Poverty and Education

Course Description:

This course provides teachers with a better understanding of what poverty is and how it affects the students they work with. Teachers will learn more about the social, cognitive, health-related and stress-related challenges that economically challenged kids face every day. Understand the “hidden rules” of poverty, middle class and wealth. Learn what the poverty-related behaviors are and their interventions.

This course provides practical yet compassionate strategies and techniques for addressing the impact of poverty on student’s lives.
