English Language Learners and Assessment


This online course is designed to provide teachers with a complete set of tools, techniques and ideas for planning and implementing instructional assessment. Teachers will learn: fair and equitable assessment practice for English language learners, a reconceptualization of assessment of learning, as well as focus on academic language in every discipline. This course will guide educators in supporting and addressing the assessment needs of students from multilingual backgrounds.
